Innkeeper Susan Franzen

Meet Susan

While living in New England, I stayed at a bed & breakfast in Wilmington, Vermont and immediately became enthralled with the owners’ story. They loved to entertain and bought the Inn after their retirement. From that point on, I enjoyed staying at local B&Bs whenever my travel plans allowed. Several times over the years I researched what it would take to run a B&B, but life and work got in the way.

In 2011 I purchased a little stone cottage on 13+ acres in Dripping Springs, Texas in the hope of one day adding a B&B to the property, yet I was far away from family. In 2020, with a welcome break from weekly travel and inspiration from my Aunt Pat and my mom Kate, my rescue dogs and I returned to the place with so many happy childhood memories. I bought the Bailey House property – just minutes from my family – and found a way to make my dream a reality.

Throughout my career, I have worked in insurance, banking, retail, telecommunications, higher education, and run several businesses. I am currently the Founding Principal of PatternShifts, LLC, in addition to being the innkeeper for Bailey House BnB. I also serve as Vice President on the Friends of Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy Board.

I love being able to live and work close to family while creating a peaceful space for guests to unwind and exhale. I look forward to welcoming you into my home!
